Fighting Malnutrition and Child Stunting in Rwanda

Recognizing the urgent need to combat child malnutrition, RCKS is dedicated to contributing to its eradication. We look beyond the “one egg and a packet of milk per day for 12 days to reverse malnutrition” and ask why there is such a disconnect between agriculture and nourishment. Our initiatives focus on ways to provide immediate relief; equip vulnerable families with climate resilient hands-on agricultural techniques; improve access to vegetable seeds by creating communal nutrition-sensitive gardens and provide households with seeds.

Contribution of Health Insurance & Income Generating Projects for Vulnerable Communities

RCKS has assisted over 1000 individuals with an annual subscription to health insurance (Mutuelle de Sante). In addition to this, the Club recognises the need for sustainable ways to generate income among these communities and families, and works to facilitate the creation of income generating activities from which the families can pay for health insurance in a dignified and sustainable manner. By offering this lifeline, we don't just address healthcare needs but also sow the seeds of hope and resilience in families that have been struggling.

Peace Education for Social Cohesion in Rwanda

One of the cornerstones of creating lasting hope is fostering Peace Education. In partnership with Aegis Trust, RCKS engages in comprehensive peace education initiatives. The Club’s approach to Peace Education is as an afore-thought rather than an after-thought, focusing on conflict avoidance rather than conflict resolution and peacekeeping thereafter. By promoting understanding, empathy, and conflict avoidance and conflict resolution skills, we lay the foundation for a more harmonious world—a world where the flames of hope burn brightly, driving out the shadows of discord.

RCKS Mentorship Program

Building on the Club members' collective wealth of knowledge and years of collective experience, RCKS mentors young individuals who are members of Interact and Rotaract Clubs. Through mentorship, RCKS members have the unique opportunity to shape the leaders of tomorrow, instilling in them the values of service, integrity, and community engagement. By nurturing these young minds, RCKS contributes to a future where hope is not just a distant aspiration but a lived reality.
